Our Reads

Kevin
-The Moral Imagination by John Paul Lederach
-The Double by Fyodor Dostoevsky
-The Politics of Jesus by John Howard Yoder

Cassie
-Development as Freedom by Amartya Sen
-Naked Spirituality: A Life with God in Twelve Simple Words by Brian McLaren
-Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen

Together
-The Help by Kathryn Stockett
-One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp
-Emotionally Healthy Spirituality by Pete Scazzero

The hardest physical part of our transition to Nicaragua has been the boxing and moving of our books. We filled twenty-six apple boxes for storage, donated some and sold others. Thankfully Kevin's parents and sister purchased him a Kindle for his graduation gift (I may use it more frequently than he does). This should reduce our "book load" in the future.

One last note. Have you seen "The Help" yet? If not, please take some time to do so. I saw it on Saturday and found it to be an incredible, yet difficult viewing. Two things that I loved, which you will understand when you see it are:

"What is it like to be you?"
"You is kind, you is smart, you is important."

We will share more about our other reads later...
